I am coming out of retirement to write one last book.

Despite over 30 years of being at this writing game, and never having broken into any wider mainstream success, despite the fact that the British literary presses show no interest in my writing whatsoever, I have decided to come out of retirement to write one last book. After all, I do outsell many of my contemporaries who produce more commercial, formulaic work. So it's the readers that matter, not the editors and the critics. I don't know where I am going with this one yet, or what it's going to be exactly - but there's a paragraph below.

I might even serialise it here on my site. Say, post a chapter each week. It's an idea anyway. I'm not sure what people will think of that. Currently I have tentatively penciled in a working title of --
